Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) Dizziness

Welcome to Mobility Physiotherapy! We provide mobile physiotherapy around Harrogate, York, and into the Dales, and are also fortunate to have a clinic location in Bishopthorpe. Our Harrogate-based mobile physio and older adult specialist, Dr. Katherine Taylor, will be joining us in the clinic for a half day the afternoon of Friday 19th April. This is a great opportunity to have an assessment for chronic needs including neurological and vestibular issues. In today’s blog we are going to speak particularly about the vestibular system and the types of troubles we can assist with.

Have you been told you have Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)? Do you struggle with standing up from a chair or out of bed? Is it difficult to drive, or turn your head to look at things while walking? Do you feel like the room is spinning when you lie in bed, or have nausea with head movement? These are all elements of different vestibular system concerns. Physiotherapy can help you improve your tolerance of dizziness, teach you ways to reduce dizziness, and diagnose the root cause so you can pursue additional support including antibiotics in the case of inflammation. Next Friday is a great opportunity to be assessed by a vestibular specialist. Please feel free to call us with any questions or book in directly via the website.
