I have over 10 years experience working in an array of settings. I work with Musculoskeletal issues, PoTs and Parkinson’s. I also work a lot with rehabilitation of patients following a hospital stay or operation. We work on strengthening, improving cardiovascular and respiratory function. Whether this has been following COVID-19 or something else. I use my skills in Pilates and rehabilitation to get to the root of the problem. My broad range of experience has provided me with the expertise to treat an variety of complex conditions. See what I treat for more details.
I offer home visits within York and the surrounding areas. Clinic appointments are also available with ample free parking.
Due to COVID-19 I am initially offering video consultations to ascertain whether a face to face appointment is nescessary. If a face to face appointment is deemed as essential, appointments will be made at a York location, or in some cases a home visit. All appropriate guidelines with be adhered to, including PPE, hand washing and reduced contact. Please CLICK HERE for more information.
What type of treatments does Physiotherapy involve?
All Physiotherapists work differently. I use my skills in Pilates and rehabilitation to ensure that the correct muscles are working and doing the job they’re designed to do. I use manual techniques to manipulate and mobilise joints and muscles. Why? Sometimes joints can become stiff and therefore reduce movement, causing pain and dysfunction. I also use a variety of massage techniques to reduce swelling, pain and increase range of movement. In addition to this I am qualified in dry needling, which is similar to Acupunture but is only used to treat tension in muscles ‘trigger points’ which are tight spots in muscles. They can be painful and cause dysfunction in the muscles.
If you would like further information on any of these techniques, just ask. All potential treatments are discussed with you and we find one that you’re happy with.
