Hello. My name is Beth and I have a first class BSc in Physiotherapy from York St John University. I specialise in treating patients with a wide range of complex neurological conditions including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury and Guillian-Barre syndrome. I have experience of working in inpatient rehabilitation as well as in the community. I work with patients experiencing difficulties relating to reduced strength, mobility and gait, balance, sensation and proprioception, pain, spasticity and movement disorders such as ataxia, dystonia and myoclonus.
I believe in setting specific patient-centred goals and reviewing these regularly throughout an individual’s rehabilitation for meaningful progress. I have a degree in psychology and am a level 3 qualified fitness instructor, giving me a deeper understanding of how to motivate and work effectively with different individuals. As well as physical goals, some of the patients I treat have additional goals relating to communication and cognitive function, requiring an holistic approach to therapy. I am registered with the HCPC and am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
I enjoy spending time with my family and generally being very active. I love weight training in the gym, running with my cockapoo and I am a keen skier.
